For Love of Munny opening reception

More than 100 Munny dolls, from the freakishly creepy to the cute and cuddly, will take over the newly opened Bear and Bird Gallery for its inaugural art show. This exhibit will feature custom-painted Munnys by 111 local and national artists (including the one pictured at left by James "Jimbot" Demski). Some of the artists -- such as South Florida favorites Colin and Sas Christian, Jamie Ryscik, Pooch, Skot Olsen and Ted McKeever -- will attend the opening-night reception. The reception will also offer wine and cheese, along with live music by Elyse. The dolls are available for sale in the gallery or on the gallery's Web site, and 10 percent of profits will be donated to the Humane Society of Broward County. The show will run through March 10, 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays, 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, and noon to 6 p.m. Sundays.
