Couple awesome new Lomo things!

Is this not the CUTEST thing!!? We just got in these new Diana Mini cameras from Lomography and I have to say that I am the most excited about this little guy as I have been about an analogue camera for a long while! It uses 35 mm film (regular developing) and shoots your choice of half frame (you get double the shots per roll) or square format images.
Long exposure/Double exposure/tripod mount/cable release attachment hole.

Plus did I mention how CUTE it is?! Guys, if you have one you just KNOW that random cute girls will talk to you and ask you about it. :-)

The Diana Mini starter kit is $60 and does NOT include the Diana+flash, but offers full compatibility, so there's that... :-)

What it DOES include is:
- Diana Mini Camera - Carrying Strap - Lens Cap - "Shoot Forever" Diana Mini Book - Manual

You can read more details and see how-to videos about it here: http://microsites.lomography.com/dianamini/

Also, we got these in:
This is the Diana+Flash I mentioned above, we just got a few of these in stock for those of you who want to UPGRADE your Diana+ or Diana Mini. The flash alone is $60.

Description: Diana+Flash :
This retro-style beauty inherited its looks from the original 1960s design. From the blue color scheme to the silver faceplate, you can tell it’s a classic match for the Diana +/Diana F+ camera!

The Diana+ Flash retains the authentic hallmarks of the original - a metal pin attachment, and a glowing ready-light. Its "Diana Plug" attaches directly to the camera and fully syncs the flash. An integrated color flash feature allows you to splash a burst of colored light at your subject - day or night!

• Includes a packet of plastic color gels for handy colorsplashing
• Diana Plug-to-Hotshoe adapter to use the Diana Flash on any standard hotshoe camera – like the LC-A+, Fisheye 2, Holga w/ hotshoe, many SLR's and DSLR's, and plenty of others!

Just got a restock on the Holga starter kits also, been out of those for a couple weeks now. Here's a chocolata of info on the Holga if you want to learn more about that dude:
http://microsites.lomography.com/holga/

One other thing that I want to mention, since most people don't really know what the heck this is and we carry it, is the Diana Instant Back. This is an awesome thingy that clips onto the BACK of a Diana camera and turns it into an instant camera! It is pricey (so it the film) so it is only for those of you who are hardcore, but it is awesome!!

New event at our gallery! Art Talk with Therry Norton!

I was thinking that I really wished there was a way that I could help to *educate* people about the art and artists we show here at the gallery. Things are just so much more interesting when you know tasty little tidbits about them! The only person who I could imagine would be "the one" to fill this need and role in my life was my dear, smart and pretty friend Therry Norton!

I pitched the idea to her as something we would start next year and she was pumped to start immediately! So yay for us!

I am proud to present to you, the very first "Art Talk with Therry Norton" Sunday, September 27th at 3pm. Since this is the maiden voyage, we are going to play it by ear and see how it goes in terms of length, but we're guessing about 30-40 minutes. Through Art Talk, host Therry Norton will discuss similarities within the works, focus on a few works in detail, and open a dialogue regarding the relevance of this work.

The focus for this "Art Talk" will be our current exhibition "Off the Needle" which features the artwork of a wide range of tattoo artists in our own South Florida tattoo community! There is so much great work in this show, be sure to come by and see it before the exhibition closes on October 10th or check it out online if you are non local (or lazy).

If you can, please join us on Sunday!

Mostly just me whining....

I swear, I feel like everytime I get a chance to post something up here all I do is apologize for not having time to do a better job of keeping it updated! :-) ...and people ask why I don't have a Twitter account! :-0 One more thing to update, no thanks! I do a pretty good job of keeping the website up to date though, which is our home base of sorts. If only I could either clone myself or add a few hours to each day. Anyway... blah blah blah.

Stitch Wars is up in the gallery still for a few more weeks, it is really awesome - check it out if you haven't already! Getting prepared for the upcoming shows and setting in stone our 2010 schedule. Sigh... time sure flies!

Also getting ready to rearrange the boutique and stuff. It never ends.

Map of "Made in Mexico" artists

I think it is interesting to see where the artists actually live in relation to each other, so each year I put together a little map for our "Made In" shows! This is for our upcoming "Made in Mexico" show opening on Friday night! Some great stuff... :-)

Just in! Great new stuff from Poketo!

Check out how cute these are!! We just got in our first order from lovely arty designy company Poketo (pronounced "poh-kay-toe"). We have the unique and lovely coffee mugs and 4 shirt styles!
Available in both Manly and Girly sizes, the Poketo shirts are printed with supersoft waterbased ink on super-duper soft tees! They wash beautifully and will be among your favorite tees! They all are priced at $28.00

Picture of the too cute to pass up coffee mugs above! Mugs are $14.00; not too bad for a little piece of art that you can use every day and microwave! Plus, make your co-workers jealous! ;-)
